Our Newport News sector is the nation’s sole designer, builder and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and one of only two companies capable of designing and building nuclear-powered submarines. The sector also provides services for a wide array of naval and commercial vessels.

Apprenticeship – An apprenticeship is a formal training program which allows an individual to receive through instruction and experience – both theoretical and practical experience in aspects of a skilled trade.

The Apprentice School provides real hands on training, related academic instruction and extracurricular activities that contribute positively and synergistically to craftsmanship, scholarship and leadership.
